National Energy Conservation Award 2022
Objective
a) Scope: The scope of the Awards is to cover sectors(Industries, Building, Transport, Institutions, Equipments) which have a share of around 56% of India’s total Electricity consumption(Energy Statistics 2022, MOSPI).
b) Purpose: The purpose of the awardis to recognize/reward organizations for the exemplary efforts on Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency. It can be categorized into National Award(Tier-I/Tier-II) category.
Eligibility
Eligibility
All organizations are eligible to apply free of cost for National Energy Conservation Award subject to the condition that their sector should be eligible for Award for a particular year. However, following organizations cannot apply for the Award:
a. Organizations having legal issues, blacklisted, defaulters in any of the government scheme.
b. Defaulters/repeated defaulters under Perform Achieve and Trade scheme of Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power.

Selection Process
Data Management :To ensure data; to be presented to Selection Committee goes through various stages of data cleaning and filteration which are as follows:
Step 1: Preliminary verification of data is done by Industry Associations(CII/FICCI/ASSOCHAM)
Step 2: BEE sub committee checks the data.
Step 3 :Data is presented to Selection Committee.

Selection(Technical) Committee
The Selection Committeeunder chairmanship of Member (Thermal), CEA comprises of representatives from organizations such as Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), Ministry of Railways (MoR), Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), National Productivity Council (NPC), Central Electricity Authority (CEA), and Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).

The recommendations of Selection Committee are placed before Competent Authority/Award Committee chaired by Secretary, Power, consisting of following members:
i. Chairman, Central Electricity Authority
ii. Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministry of Power
iii. Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power
iv. Director General, Bureau of Energy Efficiency
v. Managing Director, EESL
vi. Secretary-BEE-Member Secretary cum convener
Ceremony Details
1. Award Ceremony
The award function is held every year on the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day(14th December) every year; which in turn is synchronized to the efforts made by organizations on Energy conservation and Energy Efficiency.
