National Dhanwantari Ayurveda Award
Objectives of the award are:
i. To motivate the vaidayas and Ayurveda experts to adopt best practices of Ayurveda in the pursuit of excellence
ii. To encourage excellence through competition
Eligibility
1. Significant contribution to the field of Ayurveda in terms of promotion and propagation of Ayurveda at the National /International level / Teaching /Research and development /Policy and planning for Ayurveda promotion and integration at the National level, integration of Ayurveda in various National Health Programs benefiting people at large scale, etc.
2. Renowned Ayurvedic practitioners with minimum 20 years of professional experience.
3. Age of the professional should not be less than 40 Years.
4. A Degree in Ayurveda recognized as per the provisions of the national commission for Indian System of medicine Act, 2020 or the Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970 as applicable would be eligible for the award.
5. Past awardees will not be considered for a second time for the same award.
Decoration
The awardee will be presented with a cash prize of Rs.5 lakh, a Trophy, Sanad, Citation & Shawl/Angvastram.

There shall be 3 awards to be given annually.
Who can nominate ?
Ayurveda practitioners who are eligible may be nominated by either themselves or another individual.
Selection Process
The applications received online will be scrutinized for developing a data sheet on essential criteria, desirable criteria, and additional criteria. The qualifying candidates will be scored and the final selection will be recorded.
Ceremony Details
The award shall be presented at the time of the Annual “Ayurveda Day” to be celebrated on Dhanawantari Jayanti (Dhanteras).
